Located just 12 miles east of Panama City, Tyndall Air Force Base is is an ideal duty station for beach lovers. The base is located on Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast and boasts pristine beaches and proximity to both Destin and Panama City Beach. Tyndall AFB is probably most renowned for their F-22 Raptor training and maintenance units but is also home to the 325th Fighter Wing, 1st Air Force, 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group and the 601st Air Operations Center.

Base housing on Tyndall AFB is beachfront and in high demand. A lot of airmen and their families choose to live in either Panama City, Panama City Beach, or Lynn Haven. Traffic in and around this vacation mecca can be considerable during the spring and summer months, so be sure to factor that into your decision. The quiet, untouched beaches on base are a favorite destination. The bays and nearby lakes provide more water activities than you’ll know what to do with.
