About
The E.E. Smith Area is southeast of Fort Bragg and includes a small section of Fayetteville’s inner city along a stretch of Skibo Road (this segment is named Country Club Drive), and stretches south to Fayetteville State University. There are definitely some nice neighborhoods to be found here, but you need to look closely and do your research.
Neighbors
There are a lot of military families that find affordable housing here, as well as Fayetteville locals that have called the area home for generations. Housing prices are generally lower in this area than in other parts of Fayetteville.
Neighborhood Feel
Most of the E. E. Smith zone consists of clusters of homes that are not necessarily grouped into organized subdivisions. There are some cute cul-de-sacs with older homes (1950s to 1960s) and established streets. You can happen upon some particularly run-down spots and homes in various stages of disrepair. There are a couple of new developments going in, but not many. You’ll see a mix of well-maintained older homes with mature landscaping along with a few overgrown yards. Along with the lack of subdivisions comes an absence of HOA’s to regulate upkeep, but some areas like South Ramsey Street are undergoing a revitalization.
